March 14 - Auckland, New Zealand to Brisbane and Noosaville, Queensland, Australia |

This was a travel and
preparation day, with a 3-hour flight from Auckland to Brisbane, and then
an hour's bus ride from Brisbane to Noosaville, the resort town where the
motorcycle rental company "Aussie Biker" is located. We
met Dave and Michelle Pearce, owners of Aussie Biker, and found that Dave
keeps the motorcycles in tip-top shape and is a congenial host for the
rental process.
We also used this time to mount the GPS units and connections on the two motorcycles we were to rent, Suzuki V-Strom DL650's. We both had prepared for this, and the mounting was relatively simple. Noosaville is a up-scale tourist town, with beautiful hotels, beaches, and harbor. It is about on a par with Monterrey, California, and some of the towns in Hawaii. Dave took us for a familiarization ride around Noosaville, to get us started on riding on the left side of the roads. It helped that we had two days of riding this way in New Zealand under our belts.
