Deane & Norm's Motorcycle Trip to Alaska

August 9, 10 & 11 - Boise, Idaho

Boise, Idaho - Deane's home town

August 9

The first order of business was to wash the motorcycles - and we found they were Red again, after we got all of the dirt off.  Then we even polished them.  I guess this was to pay tribute to the road repair gods to give us better road conditions than we have experienced in the last few weeks.  A change of oil and filter was next in store, and we did that in a short time.

The rest of the day was sort of a kick-back and rest day - we needed one.  Norm got introduced to several of Deane's relatives, and we did some visiting.

August 10

Norm got up very early and got off about 6:00 AM on the next leg of his homeward journey.  He planned to ride about 600 miles that day, all on freeways, and plans to visit relatives in Wisconsin on his way home.

Deane just took it easy and visited relatives and long-time friends.

For the rest of my journey, I'll keep up my commentary, having the lap-top PC with me.  When Norm gets home he'll file a report on his homeward bound journey.

August 11

Another day of visiting and rest.  Now, however, I'm ready to get on the road again.  Tomorrow I'll be on the Gold Wing.
