Deane, Norm, and Kay's Motorcycle / RV Trip to Northern Canada and Alaska

September 8, Fairbanks to Anchorage, AK - 360 Miles

Today was the day to ride down to Anchorage so that I could catch a plane to Boise, Idaho, to attend my 50th High school Reunion.

I arranged to leave my Gold Wing in Anchorage, with a fellow GWRRA member, Don Schultz.  Don was generous, not only in storing my bike, but also providing a place to sleep so that I could catch the plane tomorrow, and giving me a ride to the airport. GWRRA members are the best!!

The ride to Anchorage was exceptionally pretty, due to the fact that I lost the smoke from forest fires when part way down there.

At about one third of the way from Fairbanks to Anchorage, the smoke cleared, and it was absolutely beautiful.  I had a really good look at Denali (Mount McKinley).  Anchorage is a nice city, and easy to find one’s way around.
