Deane, Norm, and Kay's Motorcycle / RV Trip to Northern Canada and Alaska | |
September 7, Hot Spot, AK to Fairbanks, AK - 140 Miles |
The run from Hot Spot was an easy one, and upon arriving at Fairbanks, we rode and drove straight to a coin-operated carwash which had high pressure soap and rinse! You wouldn't believe how dirty and muddy the motorcycles and motor home were!! Everything was brown! We really washed and washed to get off the accumulated mud. Most of the day was spent in getting re-supplied with gas, food, some repair things for little things that had happened, and in doing our laundry at a laundromat. Then we put the V-Strom and the Pacific Coast gravel bikes back into the trailer, tied them down securely, and reorganized everything in the trailer once more. We only had to put gas in the Gold Wings, as they had been parked at Tom and Jeanie's, so that they would be ready to go to be on the road again. To top off the day, Tom and Jeanie fixed a wonderful spaghetti dinner and we stayed in the motor home in their driveway. All in all, a pretty easy day for weary travelers. |
