Deane, Norm, and Kay's Motorcycle / RV Trip to Northern Canada and Alaska

August 24, Laird Hot Springs, BC to Whitehorse,                    Yukon Territory - 400 Miles

This was a long riding and driving day, but with again very grand mountain scenery.

We again saw Buffalo, this time a herd of between 30 and 40, but also a couple of solitary bulls.  This is a long way from any Bison preserve.  If the Buffalo keep reproducing and moving, Canada may have a problem of too many Bison.

Coming into Watson Lake, we have now entered the "Yukon Territory".

An interesting and fun sight is the ocean of signs in Watson Lake.  This started in 1952, by one of the men on the original construction crew for the ALCAN Highway, as he put up a sign from his home town when he became homesick.  From that it has grown into thousands of city, street, and all types of signs.
